2008 ART IS INN; A creative travel package
This package is a combination of an oil painting workshop and a stay in one of the most beautiful B&B's on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Visitors will have the opportunity be creative, while enjoying the wonderful local scenery and flavors. The package includes a 4-day workshop, a welcome reception, 4 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 5 nights at Tower Hill B&B; a renovated historic building on the Chesapeake Bay, a dinner at Mariah's Restaurant, a social at the end of the workshop and a self-made painting to take home as a souvenir.
Workshop I: February 25 - 28, 2008 (Mon through Thurs)
Workshop II: August 11-14, 2008 (Mon through Thurs)

ART IS INN WORKSHOP
In the workshop ”Put it in Paint”, beginner & intermediate students will paint a painting from a photograph or a set-up which can be proudly shown to family & friends. The small class with a minimum of two and maximum of 6 students will lend itself to more individual attention. The workshop will deal with materials, layering an oil painting, composition, contrast, color, texture & glazing through demonstrations, hand-outs and hands-on practicing. Students are encouraged to bring unfinished paintings for advice.

TOWER HILL B&B
Located on Kings Creek, Tower Hill is just 2 miles from Cape Charles and sits on 3 acres of water front property. Restored in 2000 by BECO Construction, Mariah's at Tower Hill now operates as a 5 bedroom Inn with a full service restaurant & pub. It was opened in March of 2003 by Timothy & Melanie Brown. Timothy A. Brown is a National Certified Executive Chef with over 20 years of experience in food service & hospitality and a former associate chef instructor for Johnson & Wales University. With his knowledge on classical and modern contemporary cuisine, he has taken Mariah's to the next level using as much local & fresh ingredients available. Melanie with her background in restaurant, resort & hospitality as well as being a licensed Realtor she can work with our guest in any manner.

ART IS INN Package information
Experience Level of Students: Beginning and Intermediate
Supplies:
Students are expected to bring their own art supplies. After receiving deposit, a suggested list of materials will be provided. Easels will be available at the studio. Art supplies can be provided, but need to be discussed before the cutoff date and these will be charged separately by the instructor depending on individual needs.
Meals:
The B&B will provide breakfast & brown bag lunch.
There will be an informal reception on Sunday evening at Mariah’s B&B to get to know the other participants and the instructor.
Thursday afternoon at 4 pm there will be a wine & cheese reception at the studio.
Extra’s:
Training package with info on art supplies & techniques.
Transportation back & forth to the studio if needed.
A list and directions to local attractions/events.
Total Cost per Workshop Participant:
$1100-$1350 (depending upon room selection).
Non-workshop participants deduct $400 from the total cost.
A deposit (50% of the total cost) is required to reserve a space. Full payment must be made 30 days prior to the workshop.
Deadlines:
Last date for reserving February Workshop is: February 11, 2008
Last date for reserving August Workshop is: July 28, 2008
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations will be accepted up to 15 days in advance of the workshop. There will be a $50 cancellation fee for each cancellation prior to 15 days. For cancellations with less than 15 days notice, the total deposit is not refundable unless a substitute student is available. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a workshop all fees will be refunded in full.
